About Nysie Hurst

Art is a Story.

It weaves emotion, observation, and experience all into one beautiful narrative. What inspires my work the most is how the Universe, through various means, does its best to maintain balance – full of color, form, and purpose.

My Art is My Story, My Truth.

It is a reflection of my experiences and all that I am. My body of work consists of mixed media pieces that explore the relationship between the ebb and flow of physical energy, form, and the process of creating. I attempt to use layers of color and pen to create a sense of fluidity within my work.

This Work is Personal.

My work is very personal to me. Every emotion from the last 12 years is in each piece. When you look at my work, that is me. Every piece, watercolor or acrylic, is a marker on my historical timeline defining MS and recreating a better life for myself. It shows the ups and downs, the pain, the joy of discovering something new, the frustration and anger at “losing” my old life, but most importantly it shows my hope for a new one.
